Apply for Next Note’s Recording Fund
Before starting your application, make sure you meet these eligibility requirements.
Applicant must be a high school student (grades 9-12)
Applicant must be available to travel to NV Factory (Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey) for a recording session.
Application Requirements:
Solo Performance
Please submit a video of a solo performance with your preferred instrument, taken within the last 12 months, with or without accompaniment. The recommended time range for the video is 1-3 minutes. You can also use an excerpt of a piece if it does not fit the time range. This does not have to be a professional recording — in fact, it is recommended that you use your phone to record.
Timeline:
Application deadline: Rolling
3-5 days after application: Recording fund recipients notified via email
Recording Fund:
Selected applicants will receive 1-2 hours of recording time at NV Factory, depending on individual applicant needs.
Nomination:
If you are a teacher or mentor of a student and would like to nominate them, you can do so by filling out the nomination form. For nominations, a video of solo performance is OPTIONAL.
Terms and Conditions:
Parents or legal guardians will be responsible for children under 18 years old, and they must be supervised at all times by their parents or legal guardians during the recording. The competition is not responsible for any damage or theft in transit to or from, or while at the recording studio.
Next Note reserves the right to make any changes in the rules, schedules, or other information related to the competition.
Applicant grants to Next Note the right to use their name, images, school affiliation, and video recordings for publicity and promotional purposes relating to the competition, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. By applying for the scholarship, contestants automatically waive all rights for any material (financial) remuneration regarding eventual publication and distribution of music video recordings on media publications and the Internet.
